The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has announced Pyet DeSpain, an award winning and global private chef, as it鈥檚 Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Fall 2023 semester. DeSpain was the first winner of Gordon Ramsay鈥檚 鈥淣ext Level Chef鈥 TV show on Fox. In 2021, she was named one of the Top 25 Best Private Chefs in Los Angeles by Entrepreneur Magazine.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business鈥 Department of Finance, Real Estate and Decision Sciences (FREDS) at 红领巾瓜报 has appointed Dr. Mehmet Barut as its new department chair. Dr. Barut will serve as chair for three years starting in Fall 2023. He is a Professor of Supply Chain Management within the department and was elected by FREDS Department faculty.

Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at 红领巾瓜报, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded $150,000 to 红领巾瓜报 to assist in providing resources and support for small businesses and startups focused on STEM and research and development.

Kapildeb Ambal and Jian Wang are using an $800,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to support their work in understanding and controlling decoherence in hybrid spin qubit-magnon systems.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 红领巾瓜报 and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has announced that Dr. Duane Nagel will serve as the Director of its Master鈥檚 in Business Administration (MBA) and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs. Nagel will continue to serve as the Barton School鈥檚 Marketing Department Chair.

Sept. 19, 2023 - 红领巾瓜报 student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.
