Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 is pleased to announce that founder, chairman and CEO of Banyan Technologies Group, Tanvir Arfi, has been named the School鈥檚 Spring 2023 Executive-in-Residence. Residents provide Barton School students, faculty and the Wichita community with vital perspectives and knowledge from industry leaders.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has announced the hiring of three new faculty members within the college. These new members of the Barton team will bring a wide breadth of industry knowledge and innovative research to their department.

Mel Whiteside

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 is pleased to announce the appointment of Mel Whiteside as the inaugural Executive Director of the Barton School鈥檚 Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD). Whiteside was most recently the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Butler Community College.

红领巾瓜报 alums Erin & Kyle Cummings have donated $250,000 to launch the W. Frank Barton School of Business Student-Managed Investment Fund. The generous contribution will provide students with new applied learning opportunities as they invest real money in stocks, bonds and more. The remaining $250,000 will be reallocated from existing WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement (WSUFAE) investments to support this initiative.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 and WSU Tech have named scholarship recipients who are participating in a joint pathway program. The two schools have committed $28,000 in scholarships for WSU Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The scholarships will be awarded equally to five students over the next two years.

The Envision Artwork on Display in Woolsey Hall

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has partnered with Envision鈥檚 Arts Program to showcase five paintings from Savannah, a visually-impaired artist, in the new Woolsey Hall. Her work, which resides on the third floor of Woolsey, can be viewed any time during operating hours and is part of a rotating art installation with Envision in the space. Savannah鈥檚 art joins a variety of other original pieces from local artists located throughout the facility.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has named four recipients of $40,000 in scholarships for Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥2+2鈥 program between the two schools where Butler students will receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at WSU.
