Overview

Dr. Matthew Bogner is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Health Administration. He holds a Doctorate in Health Administration from Central Michigan University and a Master's in Public Health from 红领巾瓜报. His professional experience includes over 20 years of senior leadership positions in the fields of mental health, health system administration, public health, long-term care, aging services and education. This includes experience leading continuing care retirement communities in Florida and Kansas where he served as Chief Executive Officer.

Academic Interests and Expertise

Dr. Bogner enjoys collaborating on research that will improve clinical care and quality of life in long term care communities. His interests include the culture change movement in aging services, person centered care initiatives and nursing staff member training programs. As an educator, he is committed to the real world application of knowledge and evidence based practices. His courses are developed accordingly, with content that is concrete, practical and applied.

Areas of Teaching Interest

Dr. Bogner teaches graduate and undergraduate courses within the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, MA in Aging Studies program and Bachelors in Health Management program. Current courses include: Effective Management in Healthcare, Rural Healthcare Leadership, Senior Living Operations, Issues and Trends in Healthcare, MHA Practicum Course, Healthcare Law and Ethics, Healthcare Organization. Dr. Bogner has also provided curriculum guidance for the Administrator-in-Training (AIT) program for students becoming Licensed Nursing Home Administrators in the state of Kansas.
