NSPM-33
Presidential Memorandum Regarding Research Security
National Security Memorandum-33 was issued by the White House in January 2021 and provides security requirements for research universities to ensure the integrity of federally-funded research projects in the United States. NSPM-33 focuses on four aspects of research security: cybersecurity, foreign travel security, research security training, and export control training.
This memorandum was issued in response to increasing foreign interference and exploitation of American research and development, including espionage and intellectual property theft.
