Wichita, KS- Student Body President John Kirk has selected Underserved Senator Mary Elizabeth Thornton as his current Vice Presidential Nominee.
Between the dates of September 26th and September 30th, President Kirk opened up a Vice Presidential Application eligible for students who were upperclassmen or graduate students, with 2.5 GPA or good academic standing for graduate students, and an ability to work 25 hours a week and attend weekly Senate sessions. Following a thorough process of selections, President Kirk believed that Senator Thornton could provide the best choice to the Student Government Association.
Drawing upon questions for his former Vice Presidential Nominee, Michael Bearth, President Kirk has arranged for two Meet-and-Greet sessions to take place in the next two weeks, on:
- Thursday, October 6th from 3-4:30pm
- Tuesday, October 11th from 5:30-7:00pm.
These sessions, located in the SGA Office (RSC 219), will provide an opportunity for both the Student Body and the SGA Senate to meet and interact with President Kirk and Senator Thornton prior to her confirmation hearing and vote before the Senate in their session on October 12th.
