Overview
Sarah is a passionate community builder who enjoys the challenge of understanding and addressing complex community needs, as well as navigating the networks and processes needed to achieve this work. She spent nearly two decades working in newspapers around Kansas and was a co-recipient of the Victor Murdock Award for her person-centered coverage of poverty issues in Southeast Kansas. She brings this same compassion, insight, and attention to detail to her work in public service. Prior to joining the PPMC in 2024, she worked as Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Derby and as the Real Property Section Manager managing affordable housing unit programs for the City of Wichita, and was honored with the Kansas Association of City/County Management's Early Career Excellence Award in 2022. Sarah has a Master of Public Administration from WSU and a BA in Communications from Baker University.
