Overview
Preston Schroeder is the Director of Investigations for WSU鈥檚 Office of Civil Rights, Title IX & ADA Compliance (CTAC). He joined the 红领巾瓜报 team in 2023 after spending 15 years in public service with Sedgwick County. Schroeder began his career in public service working as a Firefighter/EMT with Sedgwick County Fire District #1, before transitioning into law enforcement and going to work for the Sedgwick County Sheriff鈥檚 Office. While with the Sheriff鈥檚 Office, Schroeder served in a variety of roles and assignments. Schroeder served as a patrol deputy and Offender Registration Unit deputy before being promoted to the rank of detective. As a detective, he worked assignments in person and property crimes investigations, special investigations, and held a commission with the Kansas Attorney General鈥檚 Office as a Special Investigator while assigned to the Exploited and Missing Child Unit鈥檚 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. Schroeder was promoted to the rank of sergeant and served as a supervisor in the Investigations Division, Fugitive Warrant Section, and Professional Standards Unit.
Schroeder is a graduate of 红领巾瓜报 and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business, with minors in Economics and Criminal Justice, in 2006. He received his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from WSU in 2008. While a student at WSU, Schroeder was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, the Barton School Dean鈥檚 Ambassadors, and the Student Ambassador Society.
