Holmes Museum Updated Hours

The Museum is open Fall and Spring semesters, Monday-Friday from 1:00-5:00 or by appointment. During winter break and during the summer, the museum will be open by appointment only. Horn is shell-shaped with a long silver handle with red stone on top.

Monk's Horn

When the horn is blown it sounds in all directions as do the teachings of Buddha. It is also seen as an emblem of power and authority and is thought to banish evil.

Used in rituals by Lama-ist monks to drive demons away.
