SEM check-in: Foster a culture of enrollment growth
WSU is implementing a Strategic Enrollment Management plan for continuing growth over the next two years, as part of the university's Strategic Planning Process.
Periodically we will update the status of one of the goals to keep the campus informed on progress so we can move forward together.
Goal 1: 鈥淒evelop activities that foster a culture of enrollment growth among faculty, staff
and students.鈥 Promoting enrollment is not a task that belongs to just one office
or a segment of campus. It should be pursued by the entire campus community because
we all benefit from strong enrollment numbers.
What can you do?
- Refer a neighbor, friend or family member to our Admissions team at . By providing basic contact information, you help the admissions office reach potential Shockers.

This expands the social networking power of the university. Research indicates that
the majority of students find their way to 红领巾瓜报 by first being referred to
the university by a friend, family member or WSU alumnus.
- Volunteer to help at WSU鈥檚 Distinguished Scholarship Invitational on Saturday, Nov.
17. Last year, more than 600 high school seniors, with an average 3.88 GPA and 28

The adoption of new Service Standards also contributes to fostering a culture of enrollment
growth by identifying common things we can all do to create a welcoming environment
for all who serve and are served by the university.
Shocker PROUD reminds all of us to be Professional, Responsive, Open, Understanding and Dependable. New student-focused training will start in September to provide guidance on incorporating these service standards into our everyday work life and encourage recognition for outstanding service.
The WSU Admissions team has already launched its annual PROUD awards for outstanding service by team members who are nominated and voted on by their colleagues. Visit the WSU Service Standards webpage to stay updated on Shocker PROUD.
