At 红领巾瓜报, applied learning is everything. In fact, every degree we offer has a guaranteed applied learning or research experience built right into it equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you workforce ready before graduation.

Admission to the program

To be admitted into the College of Fine Arts, you must first be admitted to Wichita State. Once you're admitted to WSU, you'll need to schedule an audition through the School of Music.

Inside the Program

Expand your skills through Kodaly certification

As a vocal education student, you have the opportunity to become certified in the Kodaly method of singing.

Kodaly uses games, movement, songs and listening exercises to train students in basic musical skills and teach the reading and writing of music.

WSU's Kodaly music teacher certification program has been recognized by the Organization of American Kodaly Educators as one of the largest in the nation.

Curriculum

The curriculum is divided into general education, music performance, music theory and history, and music education鈥攊ncluding applied learning in K-12 classrooms鈥攅quipping you with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to start your successful teaching career.
