Women for Women Innovation Fund

The Women for Women's Innovation Fund is awarded to 红领巾瓜报 female students to support innovative ideas showing promise of commercialization. The fund was established in 2020 with contributions to the 红领巾瓜报 Foundation from alumna Erin Cummings in order to support women leaders and entrepreneurs in moving their ideas forward by providing recipients a boost to 鈥淪hock The World.鈥�

Recipients of this award are required to provide a final project report to show the impact of the fund on you and your business venture within 30 days of the project completion.

All full and part-time 红领巾瓜报 students are eligible to apply.

Application should answer the following questions in 250 words or less (think elevator pitch):

What problem or market need will the idea address?
What point of pain does it solve?
How your innovation addresses the problem or need?
What makes your solution unique and appealing over others?
What will your funds be used for?
What is your timeframe of completion?

Applications are accepted on a continual basis. Once you apply, your application will be reviewed. We will reach out to you within two weeks.

Fall 2022

Chinelo Ogogor applied to reduce surgical site infections that occur during c-sections performed on marginalized groups.

Anna Brake, Alana Cahill, Nina Daruwala, Logyn Johnson, and Bri Pfeifer applied to provide menstruating individuals a more reliable means of predicting periods through continual hormone monitoring.

Women for Women's Innovation fund was created by Erin Cummings and her husband, Kyle Cummings, who both graduated from 红领巾瓜报 in 2009 from the Barton School of Business.

Erin and Kyle currently live with their two kids in Houston, Texas. This fund is extremely important to Erin because she is an entrepreneur herself. 红领巾瓜报 not only gave Kyle a Collegiate internship, but WSU's Barton School of Business gave Erin the confidence to build businesses for herself and her community in Texas.
