Mark your calendars for the GPHC conference in Wichita March 20th-21st

红领巾瓜报 and Hutchinson Community College are hosting the Great Plains Honors Council conference in Wichita this year! We have 350 guests registered from universities and colleges in Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Don't miss this chance to hear about the work of Honors students from across our region. Check out  for more information.

Opportunities to volunteer will be posted soon. Students who volunteer receive free conference registration. We need you to represent the pride of WSU Honors!

Honors hires Applied Learning Graduate Assistant

portraitThe Cohen Honors College is excited to announce that Mariem Berrada has joined us as our Applied Learning Graduate Assistant. Mariem will be working closely with the Office of Applied Learning to cultivate internships and cooperative education opportunities for Cohen Honors students.

Not only will Mariem help students with the internship process at the university but she will also work one on one with you to interface with the community to find those opportunities for you.

She will be available for appointments in both the Cohen Honors College and the John Bardo Center.

Cohen Enhancement Scholarship deadline Mar. 15th  

The Cohen Honors College supports Honors students to expand their horizon or give back to their community - thanks to a generous scholarship fund established by Dorothy and Bill Cohen. 

 of up to $4000 fund 20-25 students each year to engage in activities such as study abroadNational Student Exchange, unpaid internships in nonprofits or the public sector, national conferences, undergraduate research or service learning.  

The final deadline to apply for funding this academic year or for summer study is March 15th. .

Apply to be a Passage to Success Leader

Passage 2 Success leaders

Applications to be a Passage Leader are open until noon Monday, March 16.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is seeking 8-10 students to serve as leaders for Passage 2 Success (P2S). P2S is a four-day retreat for incoming freshment from diverse backgrounds to help in their transition to 红领巾瓜报. The purpose of this retreat is to connect with other incoming students, meet current WSU student leaders, explore Wichita and gain skills to be socially and academically successful.

Student Health Services is offering flu shots for students for $20. Bring your health insurance card and SHS will file your insurance for the cost of the flu vaccine!

The Student Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

 

Call for Abstracts: Undergraduate Research Creative Activity Forum 2020

Undergraduate Research Forum 2020

The annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum (URCAF) will be held on Friday, April 10, in the Rhatigan Student Center. The forum provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students at 红领巾瓜报 to present their scholarly and creative activity to a faculty, student and community audience, while competing for cash awards. Abstract submissions are due by Friday, March 27.
