Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Guaranteed Placement Program for High School Seniors
High school seniors: is a NURSING career in your future?
Start your college career at 红领巾瓜报 and be guaranteed entry into our competitive traditional undergraduate nursing program. Students are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Benefits of the Guaranteed Placement Program:
Find out your senior year of high school if you are admitted into the WSU undergraduate nursing program. Students not in the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) must apply through the competitive application and selection process and wait until sophomore year of college to find out if they are admitted into the nursing program.
To apply for the Guaranteed Placement Program:
- as a Health Science Pre-Nursing student.
- Once enrolled at WSU, students may not complete any coursework outside WSU (Except CNA/CMA, etc.).
Important Dates:
- February 1, 2025: Final materials are due for current WSU students to hold their spot in the Fall 25 cohort.
- August 19, 2025: 2024-2025 Application cycle for high school seniors closes.
- September 1, 2025: Final materials are due for current WSU students to hold their spot in the Spring 26 cohort.
- September 1, 2025: 2025-2026 Application cycle opens for high school seniors
Students completing their final semester of prerequisite coursework can reserve their spot in the upcoming admission cycle here.
To maintain eligibility in the Guaranteed Placement Program, students must:
- Students taking or planning college courses while in high school must contact chp.advisor@wichita.edu for guidance.
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on final high school transcript.
- Start classes at WSU the semester following high school graduation.
- Take all coursework at WSU and maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours).
- Maintain an overall and WSU GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Earn a grade of C/2.0 or higher in all prerequisite courses; cumulative science GPA must be 3.0 or higher.
- Meet with a College of Health Professions Academic Advisor to review program details, plan of study, goals, and more.
