About
Urban Waters Small Grants encourage applicants to work with diverse partners in order to generate community-driven solutions and to connect the intrinsic value of urban waters with improved livability and economic health in the community.
Projects must meet four program objectives:
- Address local water quality related to urban runoff
- Provide additional community benefits
- Engage underserved communities
- Foster diverse partnerships
Project Examples
This project provided outreach and education to grade school students, teachers and residents on water quality issues, science careers and urban stream restoration. Students and residents participated in a stream restoration project in a city park that includes a 12-mile streamside walking/biking path.
This project evaluated the effectiveness of site scale green infrastructure facilities on reducing flows into combined sewers, and developed protocol for community outreach and public education on green infrastructure.
