About
Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) is a program administered by the MDC in partnership with the Missouri Community Forest Council to provide funding through a cost-share program to assist government entities and nonprofits with management, improvement or conservation of trees on public lands.
Projects which address the planting and/or care of publicly owned trees in a community are eligible for funding. This includes but is not limited to tree inventory, plan development, tree removal or pruning, tree planting, volunteer and city/county employee training on how to best care for our community forests, outreach, etc.
If tree planting is involved a three-year maintenance plan must be included. A letter of approval from the governmental body owning the proposed project site is required if the applicant is a nonprofit organization. An application workbook is available to help interested communities put together a first-rate proposal.
