Conservation Innovation Grant

The USDA, through the Missouri Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), provides Conservation Innovation Grants to inspire creative problem-solving that improves production while also improving water quality, soil health and wildlife habitat.

About

Conservation Innovation Grants are competitive grants (at the state or national level) intended to fund pilot projects and conservation field trials of innovative conservation approaches and technologies.

CIG grants must involve landowners that meet eligibility requirements for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQUIP).

State CIG applications are submitted, after the funding announcement, to the Missouri NRCS Office.

Grants.gov and the NRCS will announce the national CIG application period.

State competition is often less competitive than the national. The same applicant can make applications to state and national CIG in the same year, but they have to be for different projects.
