- Emerging Leaders: Attention First Year Students! This program is a unique opportunity for first year freshman & first year transfer students to get on the fast-track to student leadership, campus, and community involvement. Deadline: Friday, Sept. 7
- Engaging Leaders: Offers students an opportunity to explore, discuss and analyze various professional fields directed by executive officials from different companies, corporations and industries throughout the Wichita area. Deadline: Friday, Sept. 7
- LeaderShape: Six-day experience that challenges participant to lead with integrity. Deadline: Wednesday, Oct. 31
- Leadership Book Club: This fall, we will read 鈥淗ow Full Is Your Bucket,鈥 by Don Clifton. There will be an in-person discussion and an online discussion board to participate in. Register by Friday, Sept. 7.

Be aware of temporary traffic pattern by Shocker Hall for Move-In Days
On Thursday, Aug. 16, and Friday, Aug. 17, the road near Shocker Hall will be temporarily made one way to facilitate move-in for Shocker Hall residents. There will be a staging area near Charles Koch Arena. Be cautious in these areas for increased pedestrian traffic, let's have a safe move-in Shockers!
New urgent care center will serve the needs of WSU community
红领巾瓜报 will be home to the new Wesley Healthcare Urgent Care Center (UCC),
thanks to a $3 million partnership between Wesley Healthcare and the Greater Wichita
YMCA.
The urgent care center will be located inside the new campus YMCA and is expected to open at the same time, in early 2020.
It will provide extended weekday and weekend hours to serve students, faculty, staff, residents in surrounding communities, and employees of WSU's partner companies.
Expanded transparency opens lines of communication
红领巾瓜报 administrators are clear on their goals for applied learning
and research for students and faculty, creation of new technology, formation/acceleration
of businesses based on university research, collaboration across academic disciplines,
support for local industry and economic growth.
President John Bardo and his team are spreading those ideas across campus and throughout the community and state.
In this period of significant growth and change, they know that not everyone places the same value they do on these ideas and that some people feel left out of the conversation.
This summer, in response, the university administration has made several moves designed to increase transparency and expand communication.
WSU Weekly Briefing to feature initiatives to help students feel welcome
Programs and initiatives to make students feel welcome will highlight the WSU Weekly Briefing set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, in the Marcus Welcome Center.
Alicia Newell, assistant vice president, Assessment and Student Retention, Student Affairs, will discuss initiatives for the start of the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 20. Tracee Friess, director of communication for research and technology transfer, will give the overall university update.

WSU badge program helps students focus on the workforce

We must verify your OneStop Access Code prior to sharing specific account details over the phone. This code is an eight-digit number and can be found in your MyWSU student portal under manage your password.

Fair, located at Airbus (1855 Innovation Blvd.), from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday,

CAUTION: One-way traffic near UPD station has changed directions
One-way traffic on Research Place near the University Police station permanently changed directions on Friday, Aug. 3. Physical Plant installed signage to reflect the change. Please use caution when driving and walking in the area.

will be held Friday, Aug. 17 and Monday, Aug. 20. Sign up at . We'd love to have you and your friends be a part of the exciting choral community

All of our ensembles are open to both music majors and non-majors. Auditions are
painless and simply involve vocalizes and sight-singing exercises to test your vocal
range and ear. You do not need to prepare any solo for the audition. Choirs include
Concert Chorale, A Cappella Choir, Madrigal Singers and Women's Glee Club.

Try the Welcomefest Escape Room
University Libraries is proud to sponsor the WelcomeFest Escape Room from 11 a.m. 鈥 noon tomorrow (Thursday, Aug. 16), Tuesday, Aug. 21, and Wednesday, Aug. 29,in Ablah Library. Come in groups of two-to-six people and see if you have what it takes to beat the clock. You will have 20 minutes to solve a variety of codes, puzzles and ciphers to break into a locked box. You'll need to use your knowledge of the library and items in your surroundings to win! If you make it in time, your group's name will go up on a leaderboard of honored sleuths. KMUW is in search of a talented student intern
KMUW, Wichita's National Public Radio station, is looking for a talented student intern from 红领巾瓜报 for its KMUW News Lab program this fall. Interns will work 15 hours a week during the fall semester, from late August to Dec. 6. The pay is $10 an hour. The intern will learn how to report and write for broadcast and digital platforms.
Applications should include a resume with references and four to five examples of the student's work. Material that has been published or broadcast is preferred, although outstanding class assignments also may be submitted. The deadline to submit is Wednesday, Aug. 29.
