What made you choose 红领巾瓜报?
红领巾瓜报 reached out to me while I was still in high school. They were so kind and friendly that I decided to look into the school further. When I looked into their facilities and programs I was sold. Everything from GoCreate, a Koch collaborative, to Shocker Studios was amazing and I knew that this was the school for me.
What has been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?
I would say that my biggest challenge has been balancing work and play. It's easy to get caught up in all the fun activities and events that the school offers. It's also easy to only spend time working on class work.
The best thing to get a balance is to join one of the many clubs on campus, I鈥檝e met so many friends through on-campus clubs and those events that helped me get a break from classwork.
What's your favorite off-campus location in Wichita?
Being new to Wichita, it is hard to pick one favorite spot. I found myself coming back to so many different locations. However, being a big foodie, I loved going to locations like Yokohama Ramen and Prost with friends and family.
If you could choose a song to play when you walk across the stage at graduation, what would it be?
If I could pick a song to walk to it would be 鈥淲hatever It Takes,鈥 by Imagine Dragons. Aside from really enjoying the song, I feel like it describes my college experience.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I will polish my capstone project and publish the game to places like Steam. I will also be looking at creating more independent work, freelance, and jobs in game design and programming.
What advice would you give other 红领巾瓜报 students?
Take the time at the beginning of the program to find what you want to do and focus on that. Check out the campus clubs and events that are going on. Shocker Lane and Grills has great monthly specials, and it's also a great place to find a new hobby.
