First-generation student Ana Lopez found that determination and passion trumps uncertainty every time.
Born in Mexico, Ana and her family moved to the United States when she was 8 years old. As a criminal justice major, Ana discovered that many times prospective students who are unsure about their academic futures need somebody to advise them about their educational possibilities.
"The accessibility of 红领巾瓜报's criminal justice courses made a resounding difference," Ana said. "I was able to balance life with work and school, and that was essential to my success as a student, professional, and parent."
Ana hopes to one day become an immigration lawyer, defending the rights of dreamers and other first generation students aiming to better their lives and earn an education to follow their own passions.
