Meet the Four New Faculty Members Elevating the Barton School

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has hired four new faculty members in the areas of accounting, human resource management and supply chain management who joined us this Fall 2023 semester.

鈥淥ur new faculty members are brilliant and talented academics with a pivotal grasp on industry needs and innovative research interests,鈥 said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School. 鈥淭hese hirings reflect a concerted effort to help the Barton School and our students bloom to reach the fullest potential.鈥

 

Na Rea Cho
Assistant Professor, Supply Chain Management

Dr. Cho received her Ph.D. in Operations Management at Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama. She received her Master of Arts in Management Decision Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education and Business Administration from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea.

Her research interests can be broadly categorized under the theme of sustainable operations management. She is primarily interested in identifying technologies, policies, and business practices that mitigate global greenhouse gas emissions to help address the climate crisis. Her current research focuses on investment and management decisions of renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar roofs and home batteries) in the residential sector and the impacts of relevant policies on the adoption and utilization of these technologies. Her teaching interest lies in Supply Chain Analytics and Sustainability in Operations.

 

Sina Rahiminejad
Assistant Professor, Accounting

Dr. Rahiminejad holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Calgary and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Sharif University of Technology. He also has an undergraduate background in Mechanical Engineering.

Prior to joining the Barton School, he was an Assistant Professor at Lewis University in Chicago and has been teaching since 2018. He conducts empirical and analytical research in Tax and Financial accounting. His current research interests include book tax differences, earnings quality, earnings persistence, DEA models and the determinants of tax avoidance. Dr. Rahiminejad has received several academic research awards and scholarships in Accounting and Finance, including the Janet Marion Award, the CPA Tax Award, and the prestigious Bertram Scholarship from the Canadian Foundation for Governance Research.

 

Ryan Terry
Assistant Professor, Human Resource Management

Dr. Terry holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management from The University of Texas at Arlington. He received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration and MBA from Fort Hays State University.

Before starting his doctoral program, Dr. Terry spent four years teaching in China within Fort Hays State University鈥檚 International Partnerships program. He teaches compensation and training courses, and his research interests include strategic human resource management, talent management, and star employees. Prior to coming to the Barton School, Dr. Terry was an assistant professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

 

Leo Yang
Assistant Professor, Accounting

Dr. Leo Yang holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Miami and has an undergraduate background in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining the Barton School, he was an Assistant Professor at Southeast Missouri State University. 

Dr. Yang's teaching and research interests are primarily in accounting information systems, data analytics, and financial accounting. He is also interested in incorporating emerging accounting technologies into his teachings. Dr. Yang is published in several well-regarded academic journals including 鈥淐ontemporary Accounting Research,鈥 鈥淎ccounting Horizon,鈥 鈥淛ournal of Information System,鈥 鈥淛ournal of Business Finance & Accounting,鈥 "Accounting and Finance" ,and 鈥淛ournal of International Accounting Research.鈥 He received the Journal of International Accounting Research Best Paper Award in 2023.
