Barton School Alum to Kick Off Book Tour at Woolsey Hall

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ will host Erin Cummings as she begins to showcase her first published work, “The Possibility Project: A Guided Journal for Creating What’s Possible.†The kickoff event will be at Woolsey Hall on April 27 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. It will feature a presentation by Cummings titled “Moving With Purpose and Unlocking Possibilities†followed by a book signing opportunity for attendees along with a networking reception. Cummings is a Barton School graduate, president of the school’s Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board and owner of YESyoga.

“Everything in ‘The Possibility Project’ are tools I have and continue to use when faced with multiple projects, overlapping obstacles and other stresses on my mental health,†said Cummings. “It’s intended to guide you through those obstacles and show yourself what you’re capable of.â€

The journal is an evolution of a vision and goals workshop Cummings created for YESyoga, the studio she owns in Sugar Land, Texas. Filled with honest questions, specific prompts, motivating statements and a simplistic, calming design, “The Possibility Project†looks to help readers who are “drowning under the weight of the promise of having it all.†The journal then guides readers to discover what they truly value and create what’s possible through productivity, creativity, movement, and purpose.

“I hope readers gain the impact of how important it is to be present and reflect on how to move forward,†said Cummings. “Nothing would make me happier than to have the reader create courage from within to do the thing they really want to do because they are actually capable of doing so.â€

Cummings has remained very involved in the Barton School since graduating and starting her own business. Recently, Cummings and her husband contributed to the launch of the school’s Student Managed Investment Fund program.

“We are so excited to have Erin at Woolsey Hall to promote her beautiful and creative work,†said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School. “This journal is an inspirational and empowering staple that is intended to make us each more thoughtful and whole.â€

“The Possibility Project†was released on February 22 and is available at Watermark Books & Cafe in Wichita, Barnes & Noble, and many other stores. For more information on the Barton School, visit wichita.edu/academics/business/.
