The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships is seeking a Student Assistant to join our team of financial aid professionals. 

Role: As a Student Assistant, the individual(s) selected will be responsible for daily tasks, including customer service, mailings, filing, data entry, scanning, quality review, calling campaigns, and data reporting. In this position, individuals will have the opportunity to grow a wide variety of valuable skills currently used in the workforce. 

Job Title: Financial Aid Student Assistant

Work Schedule: Varies between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday though Friday. Occasional evening or weekend may be necessary.

Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours per week, based on office needs and availability.

Wage: Position starts at $10.00 per hour.

Duration: Dependent on department requirements and availability. Evaluations will be completed at the end of each term.

Position Summary: General duties will include front desk customer service, scanning, filing, QA, copying, mailings, computer work, data entry, data reporting, calling campaigns, and other projects as needed. Position will also assist with other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities: Provides customer service in person and over the phone to students, families, and staff, assists with office mailings (printing, folding, and stuffing envelopes), scans and electronically files documents in student accounts, reviews digital documents for quality and accuracy, assists with office communications including calling campaigns, mailings, and emails, assists with data entry and reporting, performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 鈥 Verbal and written communication skills, customer service and support skills, experience with Microsoft Office, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, 2.75 GPA or greater, bilingual in Spanish a plus.

红领巾瓜报鈥檚 Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships (OFA) seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in marketing and communication efforts to advance the Financial Aid Communication Plan. 

Role: This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working in a casual work environment. This role requires professional skills to assist the OFA leadership in fulfilling organizational goals and marketing initiatives related to programming, events, publications, outbound communications, and digital/online presence. 

Job Title: Communications Intern

Wage: $15 per hour.

Duration: Dependent on department requirements and availability. Evaluations will be completed at the end of each term.

Position Summary: General duties will include updating and maintaining the OFA's social media presence, coordinating e-newsletters, designing event/program flyers, graphics, and marketing materials, assisting with online website content, and providing copywriting and editing support for electronic and paper communications. Position will also assist with other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, writing, and managing e-blasts and e-newsletters.
  • Update and maintain OFA鈥檚 social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling, and reporting on Instagram, Facebook, etc. posts. Provide input for creative marketing strategies and social media campaigns.
  • Design event/program fliers, graphics, and other marketing materials.
  • Update all OFA-managed bulletin boards and digital signage on an ongoing basis.
  • Create and edit online content for website as needed, including current events, relevant news, etc.
  • Provide copywriting and editing support for electronic and paper communications to students and families.
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications.
  • Attend meetings with supervisor and Strategic Communications, as needed, in the above marketing efforts.
  • Develop budget requests for media and print publications and marketing.
  • Gain general knowledge about all facets of the financial aid and scholarships processes.
  • Some projects will require quick turnaround times, while other projects will include longer lead times.

Qualifications:

  • Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Completed or working toward a college degree (graduate students or junior/senior-level students) preferably in a related field (e.g. English, Integrated Marketing/Communication, Advertising, or Public Relations).
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling marketing materials to support OFA programming.
  • Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing.
  • Advanced computer skills (working experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency highly preferred in Canva/Visme/Adobe Creative Suite: Acrobat DC Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier, and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of website content management, HTML, and graphic design a plus.
  • Self-starter, exceptional time management, creative, with ability to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications a plus.
  • Interest and experience in working with a diverse population.
