What is Major for a Day?

This day is designed to give you an opportunity to experience life as a WSU student in the School of Performing Arts. The day will comprise of

  • An informational session
  • A chance to meet the faculty, staff, & professionals in the School of Performing Arts, Advising, & Financial Aid
  • Lunch ($20 registration fee covers the cost of a student lunch)
  • An opportunity to attend a class of your choice in Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre Performance, & Design & Technical Theatre
  • A campus tour
  • Wrap-up to ask your questions
  • A comp ticket to one School of Performing Arts production

Location

Rhatigan Student Center, 红领巾瓜报 main campus, Wichita, KS 67260

Parking

Parking is available for you directly south of Wilner Auditorium. for directions to Wilner Auditorium. Click here for more information about Visitor Parking at WSU.

Attire

Please wear clothing that鈥檚 comfortable, easy to move in, & no flip-flops. 

Lunch

Your $20 registration fee pays for lunch.

8:30 am Check-in
9:00 am Welcome
10:30 am Students attend a class with current students that gives a greater understanding of performing arts 
10:30 am Parents/guests attend presentations from Financial Aid & Advising
11:30 pm Lunch 
1:00 pm

Students attend a class with current students in one of our program areas - Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre Performance, or Design & Technical Theatre

  • Dance - Contemporary Dance Class (HC 144B)
  • Musical Theatre - please bring your sheet music 3-hole punched, double sided in a binder & be prepared to sing. Accompanist will be provided. (HC 144A)
  • Acting/Theatre Studies - please wear comfortable clothing & no open toed shoes. (WA 011)
  • Design & Technical Theatre - Facilities Tour and Safety Review (Wilner Auditorium)
3:00 pm All: Campus Tour
4:00 pm Wrap-up with Q&A and receive your comp ticket
