KansasCOM Partners Program
红领巾瓜报 has signed a new admissions partnership agreement with the Kansas Health Science Center-Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KHSC-KansasCOM) that will help address Kansas鈥 physician shortage.
The agreement allows a select number of 红领巾瓜报 students to accelerate their career path with a 3+4 program. Qualified students who meet admission requirements will have the opportunity to begin their first year of medical school in their senior year of undergraduate studies. After completing their first year at KHSC-KansasCOM, they will receive their bachelor鈥檚 degree from WSU, thereby having the opportunity to complete both undergraduate work and a medical degree in seven years. - ACT composite score of 28
- 3.25 cumulative GPA
- 3.5 science GPA
- Completion of required prerequisite coursework and a minimum of 90 credit hours before matriculating to KansasCOM
- Engagment in community service
- Well-rounded expereinces in undergraduate and high school years
- Knowledge of and dedication to the field of osteopathic medicine
- The MCAT is NOT required for admission
All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher.
- BIOL 210: General Biology I (4 hours) AND BIOL 211: General Biology II (4 hours)
- Major's Level Biology Elective (4 hours)
- CHEM 211: General Chemistry I (5 hours) AND CHEM 212: General Chemistry II (5 hours)
- CHEM 531: Organic Chemistry I (5 hours) AND CHEM 532: Organic Chemistry II (5 hours)
- CHEM 661: Principles of Biochemistry (3 hours)
- PHYS 213: Gen. Coll. Physics I (5 hours) AND PHYS 214: Gen. Coll. Physics II (5 hours)
- ENGL 101: College English I (3 hours) AND ENGL 102: College English II (3 hours)
Completion of additional coursework in relevent topics such as immunology, anatomy, physiology, genetics, etc. is beneficial for the purposes of acceptance into this program.
Students can apply upon completion of their second year of study at WSU.
The WSU pre-med committee will extend interiews to qualifying candidates before recommending up 5 students for admission to KansasCOM. These students will be required to complete a full day interview at KansasCOM. A recommendation on the student's candiacy will then be made to the KansasCOM admissions committe.
All prerequisite coursework and a minimum of 90 credit hours to include general education, college, and major requirements must be completed by the end of the third year of study at WSU. Admitted students will then matriculate to KansasCOM. Students will receive their bachelor's degree from WSU following successful completion of their first year at KansasCOM.

Students admitted through the KansasCOM Partners Program must maintain a 3.5 science GPA and a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Failure to maintain these GPA requirements may disqualify the student from continuing in the program.
