Nancy Kersenbrock Named Center for Entrepreneurship Interim Director

The Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) within the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 红领巾瓜报 has appointed Nancy Kersenbrock to Interim Director of the organization. Kersenbrock previously served as the Associate Director of CFE.

鈥淲e are thrilled to have Nancy guiding CFE and its mission to positively impact the university and grow Wichita鈥檚 economy,鈥 said Duane Nagel, Senior Associate Dean of the Barton School. 鈥淗er years of dedicated service to CFE and entrepreneurial mindset will be essential to the continued success of the center and its efforts.鈥

As Associate Director, Kersenbrock played a pivotal role in advancing the center鈥檚 programming and resources, helping foster the next generation of entrepreneurs who bring innovative ideas and businesses to our community. She has owned and operated several businesses and served as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for EmberHope. Kersenbrock completed her Bachelor of Science at Kansas State University and received her Master鈥檚 degree from 红领巾瓜报.

鈥淭he Center for Entrepreneurship is pivotal to the health and vibrancy of our community,鈥 said Kersenbrock. 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to continue leading its transformation into an interdisciplinary global hub that offers valuable opportunities to students, faculty, staff, and the greater Wichita community.鈥

Founded in 1977 by Fran Jabara鈥攑rofessor, former dean of the Barton School, and inaugural member of the Barton School鈥檚 "Beyond" 2024 Hall of Fame鈥攖he Center for Entrepreneurship has been internationally recognized as one of the finest and most comprehensive programs in the nation. CFE was the first of its kind on a college campus, starting with a workshop titled "Entrepreneurship: Your Future in Business," created by Jabara. In July, CFE reintegrated with the Barton School of Business after five years with the College of Innovation and Design.

Kersenbrock succeeds Troy Tabor, who vacated the position to pursue a role within WSU鈥檚 College of Innovation and Design. A national search for a new director will begin shortly.
